Cosmic Ring Pendant

One of my favorite Ring by Ring Designs' pieces is the  Signature Pendant.

This week I am featuring a variation of the Signature Pendant. It is a little fancier because it has the addition of a Swarovski Cosmic Ring. It has some "bling".

There are many different colors of the Swarovski Cosmic Ring. This picture shows only three of the choices. On the left is "Crystal Volcano" The middle one is "Jet" and the one on the right is "Bermuda Blue".

I took this picture awhile ago and just noticed that the Crystal Volcano version has a big "boo boo". One of the rings in not closed correctly. Now, I suspect that if I had not pointed that out, you may not have even noticed but boy, I did and probably will take another pcture with the ring closed.

The Cosmic Ring Pendant comes with a  16, 18,  or 20 inch long Sterling Silver Chain made in Italy as the Signature Pendant does and  can be purchased here: Cosmic Ring Pendant. Remember to choose the length you would like.

I'm always looking for suggestions. Either other pieces you would like to see or different colors. What ever you would like to see.

Parallel Rose Pendant with copper rings

I love to make Chain Maille. I especially like it when I make something different. This pendant is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It really is not new. I teach a class at Beadcache in Mansfield, MA on a similar pendant.

Both are made from the Parallel or Helm weave. It makes a nice bracelet too. By making a piece long enough and then joining the ends, you get a nice pendant.

With the new design, I added twisted copper rings for color and used the large rings I had left over from the Emerald Isle bracelet I recently made. I love to use left overs. It was a bit challenging to get the right size rings to go with the large ones and I had to add a middle size ring in the center to stabilized the whole thing with very small connecting rings.

I really have not decided on a chain to use yet. I had a nice silver chain that shows in the picture but I'm thinking about a black cord or maybe a leather cord. Somehow the thin silver chain does not seem in proportion with the large pendant. Maybe a thicker silver chain? Oh, the possibilities.

Any suggestions?

New Chain Maille Pendant finished!

My wrist is making progress on getting stronger. The first day after the brace/splint was removed seemed discouraging as I was not back to normal yet. I always expect more than is possible. It was very sore at night. In each day since, things are better and today I worked with some jump rings. I have a 16 inch chain that is too small for me. So I made a small extender chain for it and now I can wear it with the "New Chain Maille Pendant" I posted about on 5/19/09. You can see it here. I was able to open and close about 10-15 rings with out any pain. I decided that would be it for the day. I have a bracelet I need to make for an order by the end of the month and don't want to have any problems with that.

So, here is my first finished project. Not a great accomplishment but a start. Oh, yes I also repaired a broken necklace for a friend. It just needed a new clasp.

Hopefully, I soon will have something more complex to show. Little steps. I'm getting more patient.

Other good news this week was another good check up with my Oncologist. This is the 9th good annual report. Yay!
